The evolution of DTO continues

Downtown Orlando has long been a hub of activity, culture, and innovation. Now, with recent developments on the horizon, downtown is poised for a new chapter in its evolution. The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has made a bold move, approving to acquire four catalytic properties in the downtown area, signaling a significant step towards revitalization and growth.

At the heart of this initiative lies a vision to transform underutilized spaces into vibrant community assets. Take, for instance, the acquisition of 30 South Orange Avenue, a historic site with a rich past. This space will soon be reborn as a public park, breathing new life into the downtown core.

Similarly, the purchase of 1 North Orange Avenue and 205 + 215 East Central Boulevard opens doors to endless possibilities. From reimagining historic structures to expanding Lake Eola Park, each acquisition is a strategic move towards creating a more dynamic and connected cityscape.

These acquisitions hold the promise of a more vibrant and inclusive downtown, as supported in Project DTO 2.0. By creating additional open spaces, supporting mixed-use development, and preserving historic landmarks, the CRA is laying the groundwork for a thriving urban environment.
