Pet Life

It’s official. Downtown Orlando is a “paw-some” place for pets.

Orlando was ranked #2 Most Pet-friendly City in the United States by WalletHub in a study that reviewed dog-friendly restaurants, weather, and dog parks per capita along with other criteria.

Everywhere you go in downtown Orlando you’re sure to find a funny, furry mix of pets dining with and walking their owners thanks to year-round outdoor weather and our warm, friendly culture.

We’ve included some tried and true adventure itineraries from our resident 4-legged experts.

Adventure 1: Classy, urban, buzzy

Book a room at Aloft located in the heart of downtown Orlando, next to City Hall, across the street from the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, and within walking distance to Amway Center and Exploria. Grab a leash and head out for a walk around nearby Lake Lucerne and stop by the hidden gem, The Wellborn, for chef-inspired bites and a craft cocktail on their patio.

1.2 miles

Adventure 2: Fast, friendly, frolic

Start with Sunday brunch on the lakeside patio at World of Beer (Lake Eola) and then walk across the circle to the top-ranked Orlando Farmers Market. After enjoying some fresh lemonade and kettle corn, pick up the pace and walk 4 blocks to the Constitution Green Dog Run – downtown’s only “off-leash” park. This place is the equivalent of taking your kid to a candy store for a shopping spree. Unleash, step back, and experience pure pooch joy.
