Welcome to the world of FAUNE

Last updated on January 31, 2024

In collaboration with world-renowned digital artists Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne, Snap!’s CITY UNSEEN℠ and the City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board (DDB) presents the U.S. premiere of FAUNE, a series of 10 large format posters installed throughout the city, revealed in 3D augmented reality. The first outdoor exhibit is set to open on January 27, 2024 in the downtown area, with two other locations to open later in February.

Since 2011, Mondot and Bardainne have been creating handcrafted, responsive digital art that blends the real and virtual worlds. Their art is brought to life through the assistance of a smart device, allowing viewers embark on an urban art safari with imaginary animals, discovering fantastical wildlife hiding in their city walls. Many of their works feature a blob-like creature silently roaming desolate but distinctly human settings. Despite its clear presence within the photography itself, there is still a sense of loneliness and longing to be truly immersed in the human world. The result is a poetic visual that speaks to the often dissonant coalescence of reality and virtuality present in an era of rapid technological advancement.

Free and always accessible via smart device, Faune will be a quality and innovative public art offering which will encourage partnerships with the business community, foster community engagement for residents, and create a memorable experience for guests, inspiring them to return to Orange county on their next vacation.

As outlined in Project DTO 2.0, we're committed to creating a vibrant and diverse urban environment, recognizing the pivotal role that art plays in enhancing the community experience. FAUNE reinforces the importance of making various art experiences and destinations accessible to residents and visitors alike.
