What’s Up Downtown for the Holidays

Come out and join us for a new spin on our annual holiday edition of What’s Up Downtown! This year, enjoy a festive atmosphere with a free outdoor event at Heritage Square Park in front of the Orange County Regional History Center. Stop by anytime between 11 am - 2 pm.

There will be games, cotton candy, popcorn from Popcorn Junkie, and live music by:

· Edward Portillo - singing 70’s and 80s holiday rock and roll

· Tori Lucas – dance performance

· Reggie On Sax - playing holiday favorites

Santa Claus will be our guest emcee for the event and will do a special holiday reading at 1:00 p.m. Please click here to RSVP.

Parking

Nearby parking is available at the Library Garage, located at 112 E. Central Blvd. Limited on-site metered parking is available on E. Central Blvd. You are encouraged to take advantage of downtown’s alternative modes of transportation including complimentary LYMMO.

 

Edward Portillo Bio

 Entrepreneur, producer, freelance writer, multi-instrumentalist, specialty coffee shop owner, and singer-songwriter best known for his work in the band The Blumes, Orlando native Edward Portillo is a passionate performer who certainly is comfortable wearing many hats. Writing music since he was fourteen, Edward “feels that nothing compares to the joys of writing music with friends and creating something unique when people put their minds and hearts together.” Edward Portillo graduated Salutatorian from the F.I.R.S.T. Institute, furthering his career in audio, an education of which influences his work as a producer. When not playing music, Edward enjoys serving people through Lucid Beans Coffee Co., his very own specialty coffee shop.

Tori Lucas Bio

Full time Entertainer at Walt Disney World and behind the scenes at many Orlando arts organizations including CFCArts, Osceola Arts, and Horizon West Theater Company, Tori Lucas is a passionate performer in the art of dance, especially in theater. Tori Lucas graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management from one of the premiere dance programs in the country, Oklahoma City University. Tori “particularly enjoys opportunities to keep the past alive with classic songs and the art of tap dancing.” Allowing her work to tell stories, Tori loves exploring the many facets of dance performance.

Reginald Ellison Bio

Multi-genre Saxophonist Reginald “Reggie” Ellison started his journey undergoing classical saxophone training at ten years of age, continuing his musical studies all the way through college at both the University of Central Florida and Palm Beach Atlantic University with a concentration in Music Performance. Applying his

classical saxophone ability to different genres, Reggie’s versatile skillset has him performing “at a spectrum of venues and events such as hotels, restaurants, weddings, bar mitzvahs, night clubs, corporate functions and more.” Traveling locally and globally, Reginald Ellison produces new experiences aimed to “leave audiences delighted, entertained, and wanting more.”
