Bassist, percussionist and bandleader David Ernesto (Nesto) Vanegas heads to our stage with this electrifying, locally loved ensemble flipping the script on jazz tradition. With multicultural beats that stretch from Havana to Harlem, Nesto’s Jazz blends hard bop, samba and mambo into a fiery fusion that’s bold, percussive and vibrantly alive. Rooted in rhythm and driven by deep musical chops, the band channels the legacy of artists like Tito Puente, Charles Mingus and Chick Corea into jazz that thrums with the pulse of Latin and Caribbean grooves.
