Soak Up the Longer Days in Downtown Orlando

Last updated on March 03, 2026

Longer days are back, and that means more time to soak up everything happening in downtown Orlando. With extra daylight in the evenings, spring is the perfect excuse to linger a little longer after work, meet up with friends, or turn a quick outing into a full night out.

More daylight means more time to enjoy our downtown parks. Head to Lake Eola Park and take a walk around the lake, spread out a picnic blanket, or let the kids burn off energy at the playground. Looking for the perfect golden hour activity, why not rent a swan boats? Available Tuesday through Sunday with the last rental timed perfectly for a sunset sailing at 6:30 p.m. you can marvel at the Orlando skyline from the water. Over at Luminary Green Park you can catch a free movie two nights a month as part of Kaleidoscope 360° and shop the Luminary Market for a snack for the movie or gift to you from you from the unique crafters.

If arts and culture are more your speed, keep an eye on programming from DTOLive. From live music and performances to creative showcases, there is almost always something happening. Many events are timed perfectly for late afternoon, early evening enjoyment of Florida's perfect spring weather. And while you’re making your way around downtown,  keep your eyes peeled for art. With beautiful murals scattered all around DTO, there’s plenty of IG worthy backdrops (don't forget to tag us!)

We're also giving you permission to skip dinner at home to enjoy downtown’s dining scene. We've got plenty of outdoor seating options to enjoy shareable small plates or your comfort food favorites.
