Orlando will once again welcome the world after being selected as one of four global host cities for the Olympic Q-Series 2028, a major international competition on the road to the LA28 Olympic Games.
The announcement places Orlando alongside Tokyo, Shanghai and Montreal as cities chosen by the International Olympic Committee to host this expanded qualification series, reinforcing Orlando’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class sports and entertainment events.
Set for June 8-11, 2028, Orlando will host the final stop of the four-city series, bringing elite athletes and fans together during a pivotal moment in Olympic qualification. The event will help determine which competitors earn spots in the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The Olympic Q-Series is expected to feature an exciting lineup of youth-focused and fast-growing sports, including 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, climbing, flag football and skateboarding, with the final sports program for each city to be announced later.
Being selected as the final stop on the road to LA28 reflects the strength of Orlando’s venues, hospitality industry, transportation network and proven ability to deliver unforgettable experiences on a global stage.
Hosting the Olympic Q-Series will create opportunities for residents, visitors, and local businesses while generating international visibility for the region. It also continues Orlando’s momentum as one of America’s leading sports cities and a trusted host for major national and international events.
As preparations begin, Orlando looks forward to welcoming athletes, fans and families from around the world for four days of competition, culture and celebration in the heart of Central Florida.
