Art Takes Center Stage at the Orlando Mural Festival

Last updated on September 14, 2026

What happens when artists, music, and a little creative energy take over the streets of downtown Orlando? You get the Orlando Mural Festival!

Presented by the Downtown Arts District and CityArts, in collaboration with the Downtown Development Board, the Orlando Mural Festival returns this week with two opportunities to experience the artists and creativity that help make downtown such a vibrant place to be.

The celebration begins Thursday, September 17, with a special Third Thursday Opening Reception from 6–9 p.m. at CityArts. During the reception, visitors can head upstairs to the Signature Gallery, where studio work from muralists who have participated in the past two years of the Orlando Mural Festival will be on display. It’s a chance to see a different side of the artists behind some of Orlando’s larger-than-life public art and get a closer look at their creative practices.

Then, on Saturday, September 19, the festival heads outdoors for a full-day street party from 2–10 p.m. in downtown Orlando. Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, visitors can watch muralists and live artists create, explore work from art vendors, listen to live music, and soak up the energy of a downtown celebration centered around creativity.

Whether you’re an art lover, a fan of live music, looking for something fun to do downtown or simply curious to see what happens when artists take over the streets, there’s plenty to discover at this year’s Orlando Mural Festival. Best of all, admission is free. So come see the art, meet the artists and experience downtown Orlando in a whole new way.
