Next Steps Taken for the Future 30 S. Orange and the Lake Eola Gateway

Last updated on May 19, 2025

The City of Orlando's Community Redevelopment Agency has taken another step forward in transforming downtown into a more vibrant, connected, and people-focused neighborhood. We’ve officially released the Request for Proposals (RFP) for progressive design-build services for the future 30 S. Orange and the Lake Eola Gateway Entrance - marking a major milestone in bringing the DTO Action Plan to life.

This Lake Eola Gateway Entrance project is more than just a park entrance. It’s part of a larger effort to invest in public spaces that create meaningful, welcoming experiences for everyone - whether you're walking to work, visiting downtown for lunch, or spending a Sunday exploring the Lake Eola Farmers Market.

The 30 S. Orange site will be reimagined as a vibrant public space. It will feature a dynamic mix of landscaping, art, and placemaking elements that invite people to linger, connect, and enjoy DTO.

These enhancements are directly aligned with the DTO Action Plan, which outlines a bold vision for creating a downtown that is walkable, active, and inclusive. Through this plan, the city is prioritizing investments that elevate quality of life, promote community engagement, and support a thriving urban environment.

Releasing this RFP is a key moment in turning that vision into reality. Once a design-build team is selected, the city will begin the process of shaping a public space that reflects the unique energy and identity of downtown Orlando.
