Meet Outreach Manager James Eason

Last updated on August 11, 2022

We’re excited to welcome a new member of the Downtown Ambassador team, James Eason as our new Outreach Manager. James hails from Brooklyn where he worked as a case worker and advocate for underprivileged children and the homeless population.

"I had a rough upbringing and received a lot of help from my community," says James. "Because of this, I have always helped people in all aspects of life. I want to be a voice for them and help other people understand them."

The Outreach Ambassadors provide direct on-the-street connections for our most vulnerable individuals, connecting them to critical social services. The team’s goal is to respond compassionately by developing relationships with residents through frequent outreach and support their participation in activities that provide behavioral health care, housing options, and more.  To contact an Ambassador call or text 407.902.4374.

To further our efforts in tackling our communities' challenges of homelessness and affordable housing, the City of Orlando plans to “Accelerate Orlando” by leveraging $58 million in American Rescue Plan Act federal funds that will further these efforts. These funds will accelerate the City of Orlando’s endeavors by investing in agencies that provide shelter and wrap-around services to homeless individuals, particularly in downtown Orlando.
