From Madison Avenue to the Yoga Mat

In her early twenties, Lauren Michener had her eyes set on a fast-paced, big-name advertising career in New York City; envisioning a life where she thrived in the dazzling lights of the city, with “New York, New York” playing as her personal theme song.

Lauren found balance between bigcity life and work at a yoga studio across from her train station. What began as a place to exercise and unwind after long workdays became the catalyst for Lauren's physical and mental transformation, ultimately changing the trajectory of her life.

Though she stayed actively involved in yoga, after the pandemic Lauren stepped away from her corporate career to raise her two sons, and her family relocated to Orlando. When she visited downtown Orlando for the first time in 2024, she immediately knew she was ready to return to the business world—this time as the owner of her own yoga studio.

Lauren officially opened Devotion Yoga on June 1, 2026, across from Lake Eola Park with the goal of creating an approachable space where anyone can feel comfortable taking a class, whether they're seasoned practitioners or stepping onto the mat for the first time.

Devotion Yoga offers a variety of class styles designed to meet students where they are. Lauren's approach emphasizes accessibility and keeping the foundational practices of breathwork and meditation front of mind.
