Find your Local Community Garden

Last updated on September 18, 2020

Did you know that our bustling downtown has community gardens? Community gardens are spaces for neighbors to come together and grow wholesome food for their families. They are also a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about how food is grown and to garner an appreciation for where their food comes from.

In addition, reducing the distance our food travels has a considerable impact on lowering our carbon emissions, another reason for increasing urban agriculture and local food systems in our downtown community. The Parramore Community Garden has 19 plots of fruit and vegetables that go right back to the people in Parramore.

It’s more important now than ever to find outlets to get outside and destress. We encourage you to take some time to visit your nearest community garden or reach out to learn how to sign-up and tend your own garden plot, all while social distancing and following all CDC guidelines.
