A historic weekend we'll never forget

This past weekend was a showcase of downtown Orlando's vibrancy as we hosted two big events: the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon and the NFL Pro Bowl Games.
On Saturday, thousands of residents and visitors from throughout the United States lined downtown's streets to cheer on the nation's top long-distance runners as they pursued their dreams of competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Orlando became the first city in Florida to host the event and together we filled downtown with red, white and blue.
The following day, more than 55,000 football fans from near and far packed Camping World Stadium to watch the NFL's best players participate in the Pro Bowl Games. We're proud to host these events and help Orlando keep its status as the nation's top sports destination.

Sporting events provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences, drive economic growth, and encourage new and repeat visitors. Those visitors take advantage of what our community has to offer, enjoying our region’s world-class attractions and spending money in Orlando’s restaurants, shops and hotels. Their time in Orlando supports the many residents who work in the hospitality industry and gives a big boost to our small businesses. Events like these are also celebrations of our community and showcase all that makes Orlando a special place to live and visit.
