Downtown for the Holidays
Experience the sights and sounds of the season when visiting Downtown for the Holidays. Throughout the entire month of December, downtown Orlando is offering free holiday events for all to enjoy! Stroll around Eola Wonderland to see the dazzling holiday décor and lights. See the beautifully illuminated Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree and watch in wonder as the lights dance to popular holiday music. Grab a blanket and enjoy a holiday movie on the East Lawn of Lake Eola. And many more festive events!

Jack Kazanzas Star Installation | November 22 at 7:45 am | Intersection of Orange Avenue and Pine Street
An Orlando holiday tradition will occur with the raising of the Jack Kazanzas Star 50 feet over Orange Avenue. The more than 50 year tradition of raising the 600-pound golden star started in the 1950s. Since then, the Star has come to symbolize the start of the holiday season in downtown Orlando.
What's Up Downtown for the Holidays | December 3 at 11:30 am | Walt Disney Amphitheatre at Lake Eola Park
It's time for the annual holiday edition of What's Up Downtown. During the event, you will experience song and dance performances by Mad Cow Theatre, The Russian Ballot Orlando, and Opera Orlando.
Storytime with Santa | December 4 at 12 pm | Virtual
Tis the season for a holiday reading! Kids of all ages are invited to join us virtually on December 4 to hear Santa read a holiday favorite, Twas the Night Before Christmas. Santa will also read Ernie the Elf and the Special Gift, written by local author Russell Troutman. Register here.
Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree Show | Daily from December 5 - January 10 | Lake Eola Park
During the show, the Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree comes alive with synchronized light and music. The show will take place at the following times: 5:45 p.m.; 6:45 p.m.; 7:45 p.m.; 8:45 p.m., and 9:45 p.m.
Virtual Tree Lighting Celebration | December 5 at 8 pm | Virtual
Ring in the holiday season virtually with Mayor Buddy Dyer at the City of Orlando's Tree Lighting Celebration. The finale will be the first official tree lighting of the tree at Lake Eola Park.
Holiday Movie at Lake Eola Park - The Santa Claus | December 11 at 7 pm | East Lawn at Lake Eola Park
Pack your blankets, chairs, and snacks for the whole family to enjoy The Santa Claus. This free, family-friendly event is a fun and safe way to enjoy the holidays. Don't forget to wear your Santa hat!
Violectric Holiday Show | December 12 at 7 pm | Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park
Rock in the holidays with the popular strings super-group “Violectric” at the annual Violectric Holiday Show presented by the City of Orlando Department of Families, Parks and Recreation. Free and open to the public, the concert features traditional holiday songs mashed up with classic rock tunes and modern hits. Donations for the Pet Alliance will be accepted during the event.
Chanukah Menorah Lighting | December 13 at 6 pm | Walt Disney Amphiteater at Lake Eola
The Message of Chanukah expresses the idea that by adding a little light into the world will dispel much darkness. Join Lake Eola Park for live music, parade, and the Grand Menorah Lighting.
Holiday Movie at Lake Eola Park - Elf | December 18 | East Lawn at Lake Eola Park
Join the Downtown Development Board as we present Elf at Lake Eola Park. Don't forget your ugly holiday sweater, chairs, and snacks for the whole family to enjoy. This free, family-friendly event is a fun and safe way to enjoy the holidays.
The Nutcracker by the Russian Ballet of Orlando | December 19 at 7:30 pm | Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park
The Russian Academy of Ballet presents a gift to the Orlando Community with a free performance of the traditional “The Nutcracker.”
Holiday Movie at Lake Eola Park - Love Actually | December 26 at 7 pm | East Lawn at Lake Eola Park
The holiday season is almost over and it's time to celebrate one last time with us at Lake Eola Park. On December 26 pack your holiday jammies and join the Downtown Development Board as we present Love Actually on the East Lawn at Lake Eola Park.
