KC and The Sunshine Band

KC and The Sunshine Band formed in 1973 with one purpose: to create instant happiness through music. Led by Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, the group developed a fusion of Caribbean, R&B and funk dubbed the “Miami sound,” creating music that gets listeners out of their seats and onto the dance floor.  

The group topped the charts with hits including “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. They became the first act since The Beatles to score four No. 1 pop singles in a 12-month period and earned three Grammy Awards, an American Music Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

More than 50 years later, KC and The Sunshine Band are still getting audiences out of their seats and onto the dance floor.
