DataKind's Orlando DataDive Event

This event is calling data scientists to spend 48 hours tackling Central Florida's most wicked social sector challenges with AI.

About The Event

DataDive® events are high-energy and marathon-style where teams of socially conscious quantitative experts dive into Data Science and AI for Good projects.

Whether you’re passionate about social impact, a future-looking funder, or someone looking to learn more about how data can help communities, this event will have something for everyone. As a volunteer, you can participate in as little or as much of the event as you want. No previous DataKind experience and no data science expertise are required. If you want to volunteer, RSVP here now! N ote that this is an in-person event with limited space and we anticipate a waitlist, so please only sign up if you plan to attend!

Event Background and Theme

In this DataDive® event, volunteer teams will build and showcase data-driven applications to solve local challenges. Working alongside community partners and domain experts, teams will demonstrate tools to pinpoint areas of high food insecurity, identify funding gaps in affordable housing, and inform investment in early childhood education and care. We will also have some prize giveaways!

Event Agenda

• Friday, October 13th, 6-9 PM ET - Kickoff event - hear from local leaders, community members, and data scientists about the projects and the impact we hope to have in Central Florida.
• Saturday, October 14th, 8 AM -8 PM ET - Multiple work sessions, reportbacks, and meals as we work together to tackle these wicked problems!
• Sunday, October 15th, 8 AM - 2 PM ET - Multiple work sessions, reportbacks, and meals as we work together to tackle these wicked problems!
