Experience the sights and sounds of the season when visiting Downtown for the Holidays. Throughout the entire month of December, downtown Orlando is offering free holiday events for all to enjoy! Stroll around Eola Wonderland. See the beautifully illuminated six-story Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree and watch in wonder as the lights dance to popular holiday music. Grab a blanket and enjoy a holiday movie by the lake. And many more festive events!

Be sure to visit Santa Claus at the Eola House. Santa will be available Friday – Sunday from December 1 – December 23 at the below times:

  • Friday and Saturday: 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Holiday Events Taking Place All Month Long

Deck the Downtown  

Downtown Orlando will be “decked-out” in festive lights and window decorations. A map will guide residents and guests as they walk the streets of downtown, enjoying the creativity and holiday spirit of each of the participating business locations. For more information, click here.

Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree Show

Every day from November 30 through January 5 at Lake Eola Park. During the show, the Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree comes alive with synchronized light and music.The show will take place at the following times: 5:45 p.m.; 6:45 p.m.; 7:45 p.m.; 8:45 p.m., and 9:45 p.m.

Santa Claus at the Eola House (512 E. Washington St.)

Friday and Saturday: 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Event Handel’s Messiah

Description Admission is free. The concert features many familiar masterworks such as the “Hallelujah Chorus,” performed by a 120+ member choir and professional soloists.

Event What’s Up Downtown for the Holidays
Time 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Location Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park
Description The Downtown Development Board invites you to attend the annual holiday edition of What’s Up Downtown. Pack up your lunch and head to the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park where you’ll experience song and dance performances by:

  • Mad Cow Theatre
  • The Russian Ballet Orlando
  • James Cathedral School Drama Club
  • Howard Middle School Jazz Band, Howard Middle School Show Choir and Howard Middle School Elective Orchestra


Event Richard Ulmer Fund & Thornton Park District
Time 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Location Frosty’s Christmastime Lounge
Description This event includes celebrity bar-tending for the Richard Ulmer Fund. The money raised goes to bringing Christmas Eve dinner and presents to families in need that go to Howard Middle School.

November 30

Event Tree Lighting Celebration
Time 5:00 p.m. Festivities begin
Location Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park
Description Kickoff the holiday season on at the City of Orlando’s annual Tree Lighting Celebration at Lake Eola Park. The highlight of the event is the lighting of the six-story Christmas tree featuring 88,000 animated lights. The event also includes live entertainment, holiday music, and TheDailyCity.com Food Truck Bazaar. If you’re unable to make it to the tree lighting, you can catch the synchronized light and music Christmas Tree Show each night starting at 5:45 p.m. The show will run each hour until 9:45 p.m.

Event Thornton Park District: Christmas Tree Decorating
Time 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Location Old Town Brokers front lawn
Description A free family friendly event that includes hot chocolate, wine, and mimosas. Santa Claus will be on hand for photos from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There will be a free Christmas movie following the lighting of the tree.

Event Songs of the Season
Time 7:00 pm
Location Seneff Art Plaza
Description To celebrate the spirit of the season, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Full Sail University, and Rollins College come together to present Songs of the Season, a free holiday concert. The community is invited to Dr. Phillips Center’s Seneff Arts Plaza to share in an evening of song, dance, and entertainment including a chance to sing along with holiday favorites like Jingle Bells and Silent Night.

Event News 6 Holiday Concert at Lake Eola Park

Description Celebrate the holidays with a performance by the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra at Lake Eola Park. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to support the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, which helps more than 3,500 underprivileged children receive new toys each holiday season.

Description SantaCon is celebrated all over the country and is simply a gathering of people dressed as Santa that move as a group around the district celebrating the holiday season.

Event Downtown Christmas Parade

Location Starts at Orange Avenue and Robinson Street
Description The Inaugural Rotary Club of Orlando Downtown Christmas Parade will take place on December 8 at 4:00 pm. Christmas is about hope, family, unity, faith and love. The Rotary Club of Orlando is all about service to community. Their projects have enhanced the local community since 1920. And now, they want to extend that service to include our first annual Christmas Parade.

Description The 2nd Thursday of every month, the best crowd gathers for the Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine + Art Walk. They come to celebrate the community, art, and partake in an evening of sights, sounds, food, shopping, and some tasty tastings all along the walk! Along the way, they have Live Music, Art Vendor’s, DJ’s and all sorts of fun!

Event Annual Violectric Holiday Show

Description Rock in the holidays with the popular strings super-group “Violectric” at the annual Violectric Holiday Show presented by the City of Orlando’s Department of Families, Parks and Recreation. Free and open to the public, the LIVE concert features traditional holiday songs mashed up with classic rock tunes and modern hits. Plus, for this year’s pet-friendly show, Violectric has teamed up with Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Attendees are encouraged to bring their pets to the show, and anyone who brings a pet supply or makes a donation for Pet Alliance will receive a pet photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs. Claus making a special visit to the show.

Event Orlando Citrus Parade
Time 11:00 am
Location The parade begins on the corner of Orange Ave. and Robinson St., heads south on Orange Ave. until Anderson St. where it turns east and then turns on Rosalind Ave. and heads north. It ends at the corner of Rosalind Ave. and Robinson St.
Description The Orlando Citrus Parade has grown to become one of the largest sports affiliated parades in the nation, an annual tradition that occurs each year. In addition to its signature floats made of citrus fruit, the parade features spirited high school marching bands from throughout the nation, participating bowl game college marching bands, specialty units, and other exciting performances.
