Do’s and Don’ts for Celebrating the Holidays Downtown

When the holidays come around, the events happening downtown seem to multiply. Here are some do’s and don’ts we suggest when celebrating the holidays downtown.

DO get to your event early

Visitors should be mindful that road closures in the downtown area change periodically based on event needs, construction of the Ultimate I-4 and 408, as well as other development in the area. Getting to an event early can ensure that you get that perfect holiday card picture.

DON’T wait until the last minute to buy gifts

But if you do… downtown has plenty of local businesses that have the perfect gifts. Shopping Small is a great way to get the shopping list done and support local businesses in the process. Avoid the rushing around that comes with last minute holiday shopping.

DO share your holiday pictures with us

We love seeing our community enjoying the events we bring downtown. Share your #santaselfie and use hashtag #DTOholidays for a chance to be featured on our platforms.

DON’T miss out on the weekly Holiday Movies in the Park. Head to the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park to watch the holiday classics The Polar Express, The Santa Clause, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Movies will begin at 7 p.m. and be shown on December 7, 15, and 21.

DO make sure you know where to park. Looking for downtown parking? We’ve got you covered! Utilizing our online interactive map or looking ahead of time allows you to know where the closest parking is to your destination. For more information, click here.

DON’T forget to make dinner reservations.
