In the spirit of being patriotic, not solely because of July 4 but because of a grandson deployed to Kuwait, BedFresh by Acme Cleaners teams up with Pillows for Patriots. BedFresh is an exclusive bedding cleaning process by Acme Cleaners owned by Jim Parham. Randy Parham, Jim’s grandson, worked for BedFresh and was shocked after being deployed to find that he would not be issued a pillow.

Acme Cleaners has operated their dry cleaning business in Orlando and Central Florida since 1928. Their bedding division, BedFresh, sterilizes and deep cleans bedding and feather pillows. “Being in the pillow business, so to speak, I was unaware that soldiers didn’t receive pillows as part of their equipment” says Jim, who began donating pillows in April to Pillows for Patriots, a non-profit organization that manufactures pillows and donates them to military personnel overseas. “They’re a great organization and the pillows go directly where they’re needed.”

Acme Cleaners has been donating funds to pay for at least 2,500 pillows to the Pillows for Patriots organization since April, and are running promotions with their customers to encourage donations. Acme is accepting donations at their Downtown and College Park locations and via their website (www.bedfresh.com).
