Gearing Up For July

July is upon us and there are plenty of exciting events happening, so gear up downtown for an action-packed month.

Sunday, July 4 – Fireworks at the Fountain: The City of Orlando will be hosting “Fireworks at the Fountain” on Sunday, July 4, from 4:00PM to 10:00PM. Join The City of Orlando at Lake Eola Park for a free patriotic celebration of live entertainment, a kid’s area and an amazing display of fireworks. Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17 – Celebrity Mascot Games: Come out to the Amway Arena and see some of your favorite mascots compete in a variety of games. The Celebrity Mascot Games feature more than 30 mascots from the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League and NCAA. For more information, visit www.mascotgames.org.

Saturday, July 17 – 80's Bar Crawl: Come downtown to enjoy a night of fun at the Crazy 80'S Pub Crawl from 8:00PM to 2:00AM. Three downtown bars, The Lodge, Finnhenry's and Independent Bar, will be participating together to provide you an exceptional outdoor bar experience. Friday, July 23 - Mad Cow Theatre: Beginning July 23, Mad Cow will be showing The Heiress. The play is based on Henry James’ acclaimed novella Washington Square. Sunday, July 25 - Vans Warped Tour 2010: Head to Firestone, located on 578 North Orange Avenue, to listen to great bands from the Vans Warped Tour from 11:00AM to 8:00PM. Enjoy entertainment from many different genres of music such as alternative rock, punk rock, and ska. Thursday, July 29 – Wine for Us: At 6:00PM join the local chapter of the Water for People organization for their annual fundraising event at the Orange County Regional History Center. Come out to enjoy stimulating conversation, delicious hors d'oeuvres and fine wines. Tickets for the Wine for Us event are $35 and will go directly to the efforts of Water for People.
