The Orlando Film Festival will kick off tonight with an opening night party at Ember from 6:00PM – 8:15PM. Following the party, the opening night film, The Frost, will play at the Plaza Cinema Café.
The Orlando Film Festival is dedicated to supporting the cause of independent cinema. Their goal is to promote culture and the arts in Downtown Orlando by exposing a wide audience to the unique and diverse stories told by independent filmmakers from around the world.
Many filmmakers will be in attendance and almost every film is followed by a Q&A session, to discuss themes and ideas from the film. The Orlando Film Festival, in addition to the films, will sponsor FoolFest. FoolFest is a comedy improv competition hosted at SAK Comedy Lab that takes place November 4 – 6.
You can also expect events such as Florida Comics Live, Edwin McCain Live, Eddie Brill Live and other VIP activities. Films are free to view at the Plaza Cinema Café but you will have to purchase a VIP pass to attend VIP events.
