Gringos Locos is a very unique Mexican restaurant with a creative concept, located at 20 E. Washington St. Gringo is a slang word used to denote foreigners, often from the United States; the term is often encountered by people from the U.S., traveling abroad to Spanish-speaking countries. The minds behind this fabulously fun restaurant have taken the term and applied it to create Gringos Locos. Their slogan, “We may be Gringos, but we know Mexican food!” peaks the interest of first time guests. However, the food and friendly guest service keep the patrons coming back.
This Mexican food palace features unique menu items including Gringo Sushi, a Dirty Sanchez and their famous Puffy Tacos, all priced less than $10.00. It’s a quick-service type of place with a small dining area and a cafeteria-style line. One thing to note, they offer cilantro instead of lettuce, a testament to the true taste of Mexico. Gringos Locos is open late-night, so next time you’re out and about and want something other than a pizza or hamburger, give Gringos a try.
The location (hidden next to Sushi Hatsu) is a little hard to find, but completely worth it. Visit www.eatgringos.com for specials, events and a full menu.
