In 1926, Hart Swalstead moved his family and jewelry store from Minott, North Dakota to Orlando. Swalstead Jewelers has always been a family store and continues in that tradition. The store was an early member of The American Gem Society and is now owned by Jack Leavitt and his son Elliott. Once an employee, Jack was offered an opportunity to continue in the family tradition when he acquired the business in 1972. Jack and Elliott are Certified Gemologists of The American Gem Society.
