ABOUT THIS EVENT

The last years of Zora Neale Hurston’s life were full of accomplishments and milestones, yet largely unexplored until now. Learn about Hurston’s reporting of the infamous murder trial of Ruby McCollum, her involvement in the design and marketing of the first “anthropologically correct” African American baby doll, her impassioned writings on King Herod, and her controversial objections to court-ordered desegregation.

Virginia Lynn Moylan teaches literature and English in Palm Beach County. She is also a founding member of the annual Zora Festival in Fort Pierce and recipient of the Florida Book Award Silver Medal for nonfiction. Program will be followed by book signing, and refreshments will be provided. Please call 407.836.7010 to register.
