Whirling Dervishes of Rumi
ABOUT THIS EVENT
The Order of the Whirling Dervishes is one branch of the vast Sufi tradition of Islam. Performance of Sema is a powerful ritual ceremony of music, poetry and synchronized movement that was initiated more than 700 years ago. The ceremony embodies the journey of the soul, weaving visual and musical elements into an experiential engagement with the Divine.
