ICSC RECon Recap

From May 22-25, the Downtown Development Board represented Downtown Orlando in Las Vegas at ICSC RECon 2016. RECon is a global convention for the shopping center industry and provides networking, deal making and educational opportunities for retail real estate professionals from around the world. Executive Director, Thomas C. Chatmon Jr.,  Assistant Director, David Barilla, Division Fiscal Manager, Mercedes Blanca and the City of Orlando’s Economic Development Coordinator, Emily Brown shared information about the $5.39 billion in total development investment.

“The Downtown Development Board is proud to have attended the International Council of Shopping Centers RECon 2016 in Las Vegas,” said Thomas C. Chatmon, Jr., Executive Director of the Downtown Development Board and Community Redevelopment Agency. “Downtown Orlando experiencing $5.39 billion in development investment and were thrilled to shed light on the ongoing and future developments. With the emergence of Creative Village, the announcement of UCF/Valencia Downtown campus, and the continued proliferation of residential based mixed use development, DTO is poised to continue to sustain the momentum necessary to achieve our objective of becoming the nation’s highest quality urban environment.”
