The Colonial Overpass Bridge is now open. This walkway makes it easier for pedestrians to cross West Colonial Drive, one of Orlando’s busiest roadways. It connects residents and visitors to Orlando’s various neighborhoods, business districts, SunRail transit system, and much more. This walkway is a key piece in keeping Orlando an interconnected, pedestrian safe city.
Join Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners on Tuesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. for the free community celebration and grand opening of the new Colonial Drive Overpass. Enjoy music and refreshments as you explore the new pedestrian bridge. Bikes and pets are welcome.
Limited parking is available on West Concord Street (west of Orange Avenue) inside the road closure. Attendees are encouraged to bike, walk or take other alternative transportation methods. The Colonial Drive Overpass conveniently connects to Gertrude’s Walk, SunRail and LYNX Central Station.
