With National Small Business Week just three weeks away, we are proud to recognize the great contributions of the entrepreneurs and small business owners that call our City home. In honor of National Small Business Week, Mayor Dyer and the City of Orlando invite residents and visitors during the week of May 5 – May 11 to patronize and celebrate the small, locally-owned businesses in our downtown and Main Street districts.
Downtown Orlando is home to Thornton Park District and Church Street District, two of the city’s most well-recognized districts among residents and national and international visitors. From high-end boutiques and world-class dining to diverse entertainment and night-life, the locally-owned businesses in these districts have something to offer everyone.
But these small businesses are so much more than a fun evening out or a spot for leisurely Sunday brunch. The city’s thriving small business community provides much-needed goods and services and drives our local economy by creating new jobs and opportunities, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents. To promote the local character that can only be found in Orlando, the city encourages residents and business patrons to use the hashtag #alocalthing to share their love for our eclectic and vibrant variety of small businesses.
In addition, we would love to hear your story about your favorite small businesses and what you love about them for a chance to have your story featured on the downtown Orlando social media platforms and other channels. To submit your story, click here.
